Where to Eat in Estepona Old Town: An Indian Dining Guide
14 August 2026

A local guide to dining in Estepona old town — where we are, how to find us, parking, best times to visit and what to order on your first evening.
Estepona old town is one of the prettiest corners of the Costa del Sol: whitewashed walls, cobbled lanes, flower pots on every facade and a rhythm of life that slows down the moment you step off the main road. It is also where you will find us — Sabor India, at Calle Miguel de María Luque 7, a short walk from the Plaza de las Flores and the seafront promenade.
WHERE WE ARE AND HOW TO FIND US
We sit on a quiet street just inside the old town, close enough to walk from Plaza de las Flores in a few minutes and easy to combine with an evening stroll along the paseo marítimo. If you are driving, the underground car parks around the centre are your best option in high season, then walk the last few minutes through the lanes.
BEST TIMES TO VISIT
We are open every day from 14:00 to 00:00. Between 14:00 and 16:00 the old town is calm and it is the easiest time to get a table without booking. Evenings from 20:30 onwards are the busiest, especially in summer and at weekends — if you are a group of four or more, reserve in advance. A quick WhatsApp message is usually the fastest way.
WHAT TO ORDER ON YOUR FIRST VISIT
If it is your first Indian meal in Estepona, keep it simple and generous. Start with mixed tandoori starters — chicken tikka, sheek kebab, onion bhajee — then order two contrasting curries to share: something creamy such as butter chicken or malai tikka masala, and something with more character such as Irani kofta or a garlic chilli dish. Add basmati rice, one garlic naan, and a raita to cool everything down. Finish with a mango lassi or a mint tea.
EATING WITH THE OLD TOWN IN MIND
Indian food suits this part of Estepona better than people expect. The style of eating is Mediterranean — dishes in the middle of the table, bread torn and shared, a long meal rather than a rushed one. Order fewer dishes than you think you need, then add more; our kitchen sends food out as it is ready.
VISITING WITH FAMILY OR WITHOUT SPICE
Every curry can be cooked mild, medium or hot. Children usually do well with butter chicken, plain naan and rice, and vegetarians and vegans have a full section of their own — chana masala, dal tadka, paneer dishes and vegetable biryani.
